What do you miss?

What do you miss?
I've just been driving through London at midnight, over Albert Bridge with all the pretty lights and chillout radio on and thought how much I love London.
What do you all miss about London (so I can make the most of my last few weeks here)

Walking. Jumping off and on buses. Independent shops and restaurants rather than androgynous malls and hotels. Pubs with people outside enjoying a beer on a sunny evening. Bookshops. Walking.

I miss all the little quaint and eclectic cafes, pubs and restaurants everywhere, walking through the green parks and strolling by the canals and rivers. I miss the old buildings and the sense of history, I miss picnicing on Primrose Hill, curry on Brick Lane, shopping and lunching in Notting Hill, ahh the list could go on and on...sniff...
But I don't miss the rain or the Underground!

Miss London?????? Not at all!
Then again I am a northerner.
What I miss from the UK as a whole tho is
walking or the choice to be able to
greenery
greggs prawn oval bites
being able to put a bet on at the bookies
casino
being able to explain what I need / want etc in one single attempt and not 5
family and friends
Thats about it tho. I enjoy where I live now tho as well.

Apart from my fiancee who lives there..... I'd have to say Salt Beef from Brick Lane, curry in southall, beer at the cross keys in Chiswick, watching Brentford FC (my adopted english team), cod n' chips & mushy peas, full english (with extra bacon) in a greasy spoon.

Reading the old 'Currant Bun' in some greasy spoon without the black marker censoring all over the place
Shopping in top quality clobber and accessories on Bond Street and Jermyn Street - give me these two places over Dubai Mall every time
Afternoon tea at the Wolseley in Picadilly
The hustle and bustle in Covent Garden on a sunny Bank Holiday weekend
Going to an independent arthouse cinema like the Curzon and watching something uncensored
Popping into Harmony in Soho with the missus to pick up some legal substances, and if we're feeling extra fruity get one of them black leather masks with the zip for the mouth
Picking up some graton at Shepherd's Bush Market and eating it on the hoof
Match day at Loftus Road
loads of stuff really....
oops - forgot Spearmint Rhino - great kebabs!

No bread and butter with the cod 'n' chips??
I think Southall's losing it btw...
When I was last there in April the Broadway had very little atmosphere.

Was in Southall in Feb and thought it was pretty dead also, strange! But some good curry there none the less, went to a place called "Brilliant Restaurant" last time I was there, really top curry!!!

Re: What do you miss?
- No sand
- Wearing a coat, and seeing your breath on a cold day
- The Evening Standard
- Dogshite on the floor
- Graffiti
- Women, who at the mere sight of the sun, wear short skirts and crop tops
in the City
- Ken's Cafe outside Upton Park
And finally and most importantly, my season ticket seat at West Ham, and sitting watching the game here on Showtime knowing whoever I have lent it to that Saturday is sat in MY seat !!
