Default What to do in Dubai on Christmas Day

My 20 year old daughter and I will be transiting in Dubai on Christmas day and were looking for something to do to kill the 21 hours we have between flights. Our hotel is one of the airport ones provided by Emirates, but we're happy to take taxis or public transit to wherever is suggested. Is there anything we absolutely should see and anything we should avoid?

I guess the musical fountain between the Burj Khalifa and Dubai Mall is worth a look and only 15 minutes from the airport.

Thanks. She wants to see the Burj so that's what we'll do.

If you intend to go up it (which is well worth it), book in advance online (much cheaper, and you probably won't get in without booking on Christmas day anyway).

Yes, our next flight is 15 hours to Toronto, so I intend to sleep for at least 1/2 of it.

Thanks for that. I'll book right now.

Not sure if the Big Bus Tours will be running that day but its a good way to see everything. The Malls should be nice and quiet.

Wow! I've just had a quick nosy and that bus looks like just what we're looking for. We only have 21 hours on the way to Toronto and 15 on the way back so not a lot of time to see much. The bus is a great way to spend a day - we do it in pretty much every new city we travel to.

What a great way to spend a Christmas Day.

I booked for Mr BEVS to go up the Brj for his 50th . Was well worth it judging by his rave reviews.

He also used that bus to get around.
