I expect both sets of shoes to last me 20 yrs if looked after , not a bad investment on 600 quid . Never skimp on shoes and watch .

Correct , i have a pair of Church monk straps and a pair of Loakes full brogues . Ive had the Church shoes 12 years , i sent them back to the UK last year for a re-sole and a repair . It cost me 50 quid and they came back nearly new .

I have been given a late gift of a FitBit, so I'll see if that inspires me to get off my backside a bit more.

I said this about shoes and handbags a while back and was given a hard time from many. My bags and shoes last for years if looked after properly. I still have a pair of boots that I bought in 1999 for GBP 175 (I remember as it was rather a lot at the time) and I still have them. Been worn every year here, twice a week when I was in the UK and still going strong, which makes them excellent value if you cost an item per wear.

Remember they come in different last fittings so you need to get a fitting . A great investment .

I've got a golf lesson (present) on Friday or Saturday. Cannot wait, it's going to be painful though, given that I'm pretty much completely self taught!
