I vaguely remember that you can put them in a bag with some other fruit, but of course can't remember which fruit...or even if it was a tip for avocados or something else...otherwise I am doing just fine with the old memory thing...

Part of it has to do with being single, part of it has to do with time - I don't get home till seven or seven thirty most nights and I get up at five most mornings for training. Part of it has to do with having the disposable income to pay a bit extra for good quality prepared foods. I probably eat more salads and raw vegs than most people on this board.
Thats not really saying much though is it?

Thanks for all the suggestions. I made Meow's beef stew and it was brilliant, especially on cold and wet Friday night. Bought several loaves from Eric Keyser and we also had a massive salad. Someone else ended up bringing the pudding, a rather nice if slightly burnt apple galette with Mackie's ice cream.

The six of us went through 14 bottles of beer and four bottles of wine.

All in all, a great success.
