Two weeks leave until I start my new job.

Leave work today and have nothing to do (except buy a new sim card...)

Suggestions welcome.

(Nothing expensive though, I'm not getting paid)

Psychopathic, pathological liar for a boss + a Scamp that doesn't feel the need to take shit off the aforementioned + random call from new company with a job that sounds much more interesting and rewarding + slight pay rise + signing on bonus = No Contest.

Getting zero notice pay sucks but options were to work full 4 weeks notice doing data entry / tea making and get no commission OR leave immediately this arvo and get all commission owed and no working notice.

Commission is over double my salary so it's an added no contest.

If it were slightly later in the year I'd go on a road-trip through Oman, down to Salalah and back. Might even be OK to do it now as temps are generally a lot lower on the east coast.

Or turn up at DXB with a budget in mind and jump on the first standby ticket to somewhere exotic.

Not a bad shout at all, but I think I'm going to focus on the driving range. My mrs hammers me round 18 holes so I've got some time to get better and challenge her.

Yeah, but going alone because the Mrs is a teacher so it loses appeal. I think I'll just treat myself to an overnight trip to Oman for the Japan v Oman world cup qualifier in November.
