Weekends
In KSA I got used to the Thursday/Friday weekend. Some people never get used to it - even after 20 years ! Other places do it differently. I pinched this from Wikipedia -
"Following reforms in a number of Arab States of the Persian Gulf in the 2000s, the Thursday–Friday weekend was replaced by the Friday–Saturday weekend. This change provided for the Muslim offering of Friday Jumu'ah prayers and afforded more work days to coincide with the working calendars of international financial markets.
Algeria (2009)
Bahrain (2006)
Bangladesh
Egypt[25]
Iraq (2005–2006)
Jordan (2000)
Kuwait (2007)
Libya (2005–2006)
Northern Malaysia (only in the states of Kelantan, Terengganu and Kedah)
Mauritania (2005–2006)
Oman (2013)
Qatar
Sudan (2008)
Syria (2005–2006)
United Arab Emirates (2006)"

As long as I get two days off I don't really care . I kind of prefer a Thursday / Friday weekend because you have two days off and you still have the Saturday / Sunday football to look forward to .

Re: Weekends
Thursday/Friday was so much better than Friday/Saturday
Saturday is a really busy day, and I much preferred to be busy on Thursday and relax on Friday ready for the week start. Now by the start of the working week I'm exhausted already and I've only done 2 days of work this week! ffs

Anyway, how do you think I felt - living in Saudi for eleven years and always, because of the nature of my work, working the Mon-Fri 'Western' week..........?

Re: Weekends
Soon I hope. The Causeway is a nightmare on Saturday morning with all the Bahraini's coming for cheap shopping or whatever, frankly I cannot understand why anyone would voluntarily cross the Causeway in that direction, but each to their own.
