watch problem

morning all.

Need some advice. Got a lovely watch for my birthday last week, it is meant to be water resistant, the booklet states you can even go diving with it. Anyway wake up today and the face has def got water inside, its all misty.

I am taking back to the shop this afternoon, but am anticipating that they will say that they will send for repair. Am not happy re having a brand new watch repaired, think a watch that is 7 days old and expensive to boot and supposedly water resistant that i should be entitled to a new watch.

What shall I do if they go down the repair route?

Be careful, see how "water resistant" is used rather than "water proof"?

Its a Breitling, says you can dive with it? So there shouldn't be bleeding water in it.

as long as its not a Karama Breitling you shouldnt have a problem. a watch thats had water in it will never be right!
hope you didnt press any of the buttons on it whilst in the water. that will always let in water

Ok, there are two things which are most likely to be the case:

The stuff in your watch is condensation (I'm not really sure if its the right English word though, fog??), it happens when you go from an airconditioned room in to the heat. So there are two ways for that to happen, either you didn't fully close the thingy which you adjust the time with, OR, the watch had been in the store for a while before they sold the watch and the rubbers which make the watch waterproof have dried up somewhat, leaving a small hole and thus letting the condense inside the watch.

If the last one is the case, they should repair it for you, its just a really small reparation and will be done is 10 minutes by the right person. No need to demand a new one :)

ah yes you are on to summat there I think, cos i haven't had it near water.

I havent adjusted or reset the time since I got it, as its only 7 days old, so it cant be that

But for that to happen to such an exp watch surely is not acceptable?

and if they remove the condensation, how do i know that it hasnt spoilt anything else inside the dial
?
