Wakestock Abu Dhabi 4-6 March

Official Abu Dhabi Wakestock Website

Wakestock Abu Dhabi represents the first stop on the prestigious 2010 WWA Wakeboard World Series as the sport's top 16 athletes compete off the shore of Al Sahil Beach for a share of the $50,000 prize and the title of Wakestock Abu Dhabi Champion 2010.
In addition to the offshore competition, you'll be able to get close to the action on the East Plaza with the Wakestock Pool Gap, as the riders battle it out in a flood-lit, night-time rail and tricks contest.
To help you catch the wakeboarding bug, a special Beginners Park will be installed on the beach directly in front of the east plaza offering those new to the sport free lessons with professional instruction for four weeks from February 3rd onwards.
And there's more! When the sun goes down, Wakestock Abu Dhabi by night will see some of the hottest bands and DJs perform on the beach to a crowd of thousands. Throw in a sprinkling of autograph sessions, merchandise stalls and cutting edge Wakeboarding documentary screenings, and there's an action packed 3 days of family fun ahead.
Showcasing the world's best wakeboarders by day and playing host to top music talent by night, Wakestock Abu Dhabi 2010 truly has something for everyone.
So get into the spirit and mark March 4th in your diaries.

This park was built for the sole purpose of bringing wakeboarding to the people of Abu Dhabi and UAE, whether they are locals trying it for the first time, or a vacationer from far away who happens to be in town and wants to strap in. And all of this just adds to the fact that everybody in Abu Dhabi is so courteous, interested in what wakestock and wakeboarding is.

Personally I would rather watch Sting perform at the Meydan Racecourse for Dhs150 on 4th March than drive down to the capital.
