Very Public marriage proposals....corny?

Whats the deal with these things? It's mildly annoying to see on TV or read on the news about some chap proposing to his GF at some very public event/show/stadium etc...

She did the right thing..............

Mind you, it could be worse - I used to work with a guy in London who decided that a good time to propose to his girlfriend of many years was just after her Mum had died........ she said 'no' too (plus a few other things).

When you propose in front of soo many people, you are rather putting them on the spot. If the relationship is not at that point where both sides are sure they want to get married, then 1 party should not put undue pressure on the other party in such a public manner.
