After 6 years the landlord has finally decided to repaint the house.

Apparently he searched long and hard to find the three biggest oxygen thieves he could find who not only can barely function as painters but apparently can barely function full stop.
I'm all for care in the community but these fly catchers are particularly adept at ****ing up my stuff whilst claiming it had wet paint on it before they arrived.

It will be a minor miracle if I don't physically assault at least one of them today

I hate this shit.

One of them just put a wet brush down on an uncovered table and they are now so cowed that it just took a point with a finger for 2 others to jump in and remove the brush and paint. Why just ****ing why would you keep doing dumb shit like that. I know it's a shut job at a phenomenally shit wage but really what the ****ing **** are you thinking?

Now I'm the typical expat *********** who tears them a new ass every ten ****ing minutes.

With things like this I think the race / salary goes out the window.

If someone in the UK did it, you'd go mental at them, so you're free to go mental at these guys. It's not a question of them being paid much less or being Indian and having a hard time over here, it's a question of them being ****ing idiots. Period.

Im willing to bet that before they moved to dubai they had never held a paint brush before and took the job just because it was a job, so 99% of them wouldnt know what to do with a brush on or off the wall.
I always find it works in my favor if I just give them some extra cash at the end of it all, so the next time they come in, they are always eager and extra polite/careful etc. In your case, since the care needs to be taken during the job, just hand the buggers 50 or 100 aed each and watch the transformation

Of course and knowing they wouldn't be back I had the compound watchman translate a similar deal in advance, "don't **** my shit up and I'll make sure it's painless and profitable" apparently to no avail .

Well I suppose, as long as by masterful you mean obviously about to break into a psychopathic rage that ends in a blood bath.

That said they have now ****ed off and finished. 3/4 of the house done in less time today than 1/4 yesterday and to a better standard.

I still don't get why it took a full on expat strop and threats of extreme violence to stop painting everything but the ****ing walls though.

There are many things about the world that I will never understand and many things that this place forces you to do that I will forever hate, not the least of which is sometimes I am forced to be an utter **** just to get shit done properly.
