Re: Valentines day- Lionheart style
Most wives will tell you they don't want a big fuss made over them on Valentines Day, but what if I want to make a big fuss? What if I want to show my sons how to treat a woman and what If I want to show my daughters what they should expect from their future husbands? There are a lot of things to be considered here

Wether it's time or money the best investment a man can ever make is an investment in his wife..If she's miserable, everyone in the house is miserable, even the pets

Call me a commercial sell out, but I still think it's sweet.
My dad still buys my mum a valentines day card and a bunch of cheap garage forecourt flowers, it's kind of tradition now. My dad is useless at saying anything affectionate at all, in fact I don't think I've ever heard him say I love you to my mum even on their anniversary, so its a sweet gesture, says he cares even if he can't say it. So just because some of you guys say I love or show it on a daily basis not everyone does.

Yes, well, in your case, you can return the "pets" when your rental agreement is up.

my dads a miserable old git to be honest- not one for sharing his emotions other than when he's angry or peed off- which is more often than not so I won't be expecting any I love you's or anything from him anytime soon.
Even when i tell him 'i love you dad', he has to change the converstation- never had an affectionate word from him, but when he first picked me up form the airport after I'd been away for 5 months he welled up when he saw me and was quite choked- first time I ever seen he cares. But thats just how he is. Old skool I guess.

Gee thanks, I'd say I like you too apart from the whole apparently looking for dogs for fighting... as a fluffy animal lover I'm afraid that means I have to despise your very being

If your wife's misery/happiness is determined by the price of the gifts she receives, dump her, or exchange her for a better version.
