What concerns me the most is the mass influx of visitors once people are allowed to travel from Europe .... whether tested or not some will slip the net and it will spread like wildfire and then they will all F off again like at Xmas and NY.

If that holds true there's a glimmer at the end of the tunnel.
Great hearing the stories on here as the UAE is miles in front of most of the world vax wise.

My feeling from the UK media is that they are softening the public for no overseas travel without quarantine on return this UK summer.
For hub countries such as the UAE it will be a difficult decision.

The Ramadan effect! The UAE and possibly Bahrain have done enough of a job in vaccinating to knock the peak off it but I predict it will be carnage in the rest of the Islamic world as soon as the iftars start and they will start for sure. As of Monday the number of cases will spiral out of control even Saudi that is only reporting a faction of cases will surpass the UK for case numbers. What will be impact on international Travel? When the Middle East becomes Covid Central what nation will permit travel.

The point, whatever the mortality rate, is that people this Ramadan may be less careful than last time, suggesting we might get more of a case uptick. In the papers today they even warned (in AD at least) to expect greater random inspections to make sure people are complying with social distancing etc.

I hope you're wrong (even thought it's unlikely) as it'll affect how likely the UAE is to be 'green' for travel to the UK.

Last year it had only just started this year it has a wide distribution combined with growing apathy toward it. Last year it was cases being imported in to the region from elsewhere since then the UAE has had a surplus and even been exporting. In Saudi the R rate is at 1.25 which indicates a steep rise is coming in addition to the pending party season.
