The road signs on the SZR coming towards AD which say something like "Be prepared for road surprises"

Ignoring these nonsense ones. I do rather like how junctions are numbered on the major roads - i.e. how junction 403 follows 392, and it's 11km between the two. I think that's a really clever idea, much better than our 11,12,12a,13 rubbish where you have no idea on the distance between them.

Ignoring these nonsense ones. I do rather like how junctions are numbered on the major roads - i.e. how junction 403 follows 392, and it's 11km between the two. I think that's a really clever idea, much better than our 11,12,12a,13 rubbish where you have no idea on the distance between them.

I'm actually being serious, the problem is that we don't put up signs saying xxKms to next junction, even if we did - it's only the next junction you have information on, not the 5th one that you need. I do wonder how many people actually realize that the junction number here infers the distance from the start of the road though...

I'd never realized it was based upon the distance between junctions! Something in this country which does actually make sense
