US Presidential election

Re: US Presidential election
good because the republican party of today is one of the most insidious forces in the world let alone america. A political party has been completely hijacked an dis been run and controlled by a minority with a very definite agenda. This minority are willing to lie constantly and repeatedly not just about the opposition but about themselves to their own party members. dissent is not allowed, an alternative viewpoint is not allowed and as long as you scream freedom and socialism often enough and loud enough it looks like its possible to get away with what to me is an obvious sham.

Anyway, I see that someone who rambles on without any sense of direction or purpose is now known as a CLINT - an easy word to misread, depending on your handwriting.........

I quite liked him rambling on. Took the edge off how seriously it all gets taken. I'm sure we didn't go bananas across the UK when Clegg, Brown and Cameron were having a polite debate on the tellybox.
Let's all remember that irrespective of who goes into the White House next will almost 100% certainly fit the rule on governments:
Same shit, different toilet.

I'm starting to see things differently............... this is how Ron Paul's supporters are being treated at the Convention:

To The Dean. Relax, the US will not be much different after the election than before. As always the President proposes, the congress disposes. Meaningful change is nearly impossible I suspect that trillion dollar annual deficits will continue regardless. Our children will pay.
- Is he religious?
- Will he let gays get married?
Everything else (economy, poverty, foreign policy etc) is just irrelevant.

- Obama is a crypto Muslim Kenyan
- Obama gona take our guns and replace capitalism with European Socialism
- Obama does not believe in American exceptionalism
----
In the grand scheme of things, Obama or Romney make little difference because the people behind the curtain never change.

As far as the right wing base is concerned:
- Obama is a crypto Muslim Kenyan
- Obama gona take our guns and replace capitalism with European Socialism
- Obama does not believe in American exceptionalism

I don't find Paul Ryan terrifying in the slightest (although I'm somewhat disturbed to learn of the efforts the GOP are going to in order to stop Ron Paul supporters from having their voices heard).
It seems to me that we are living through an era of countries/governments believing it's OK to borrow money they will never - ever - be able to repay, just so they and their people can enjoy a better standard of living now........ like I said, that's immoral. Ryan is prepared to stand up and say no to it, and he deserves credit (Romney isn't on the same planet, intellectually) for that, whatever the outcome. I don't care about the Republican-v-Democrat stuff - all US parties are right of centre by any other standards, so it's mere nomenclature.
It's not just the US though - some of the Eurozone countries are, in effect and in reality, bankrupt. Same reasons, same outcomes. All of us will find that our grandchildren will be immeasurably poorer because our generation greedily paid ourselves more than we could afford, and more than we deserved. Nobody seems to have considered the possibility that our grandchildren might refuse to pay the bill - what then?
Global civil unrest virtually guaranteed.

Because that'll really help the economy....especially when no one can afford healthcare.
Not to mention the whole rape isn't rape fiasco as well as no abortions even under incest/rape cases.
Because that's a moral high ground everyone should want to be attached to.
