I feel for you! Korean food has got to be at the bottom of the pile.

Personally, the whole money-shit bucket doesn't fit well with me. I'm amazed what I see people accept in pursuit of filling the money bucket - I just wouldn't accept it regardless of money.
I've found - even in other expat "locations" (such as Singapore and Hong Kong) as well as other places where I've been in one of only a few expats - that the Middle East is by far the least culturally interesting. I know a few people who are friends with locals but I've found it very very difficult indeed. Especially in the UAE. I'm friends with more Saudi women than Emirati men

This then makes it hard to make lasting friendships. I feel I'm on my third cycle of friends now - and you do have to keep going with making friends, but it seems to get less easy each time.

So, what's left is the expat lifestyle, work and money. If work stopped being interesting for me, I'd be out of the place tout suite.

Does no one find it odd that the chap who died was apparently staying at the Burj al Arab. Did he seem like the type to have enough money to stay there for a week?

I have read on another site today that he was invited to Dubai by a "mystery woman".
