UAE to stage World Club Cup in 2009 and 2010

The tournament pits the winners of the Champions League, South America's Copa Libertadores, the Asian Champions League and other major club tournaments against each other. Fifa president Sepp Blatter said the tournament would be moved from Japan to the United Arab Emirates for 2009 and 2010, and that it would return to Japan for 2011 and 2012. Australia had also presented an "exceptional bid" but had been unsuccessful, Blatter added. According to the World Club Cup website, the host nation's league champions also win a place in the tournament. This means the winner's of the etisalat League will face the best sides in the world next year. |

Last three years its been won by the South Americans...its done quite a lot in terms of profile and finance for the hosts. wonder if Man Utd will pull out of the FA Cup this time :D |

Last three years its been won by the South Americans...its done quite a lot in terms of profile and finance for the hosts. wonder if Man Utd will pull out of the FA Cup this time :D AC Milan played 2 games to win last year's tournament. Corinthians played 4 matches to win the 2000 tournament. |
