UAE Labour Cards
 

It was my understanding that UAE Labour Cards were being phased out and being replaced by the new Emirates ID Card, which incorporates all of the required data. According to Gulf News, this may not be the case. Any comments?

I'm just renewing my visa and the PRO has had to apply for a labour card renewal also. Quite what it is for I do not know as I have never been asked for it in the 3 years I've been here.

I got a visa for our new maid last week and they did not give me a labour card (as per before). I asked why and the immigration lady said they were not using them anymore. Employment is linked to Emirates ID.

Freezone is different as you get a combined labour/freezone access card..

yep, both of my boys werent given labor cards this time around

seems to me they are getting more and more desperate in making money off anything and everything possible now...ooh I cant wait for the pop!
