UAE Justice

Yet another case of a victim reporting a crime to the Police and then getting charged herself...remember the guy who was stabbed by his ex-girlfriend? Isn't it about time that the judicial system over here tried moving into the 21st century rather than festering in the Middle Ages?

Maybee it's just an inability on the part of the authorites to ascertain right and wrong.

That is precisely my point...their inability to determine right from wrong. Just think about all those rape cases, where the victim gets charged with unlawful sex. It's crazy.

Terrible story but just one of thousands . There's a lot of naive people out there who still don't understand how this part of the world works.

When you get on the wrong side of the tracks here it turns to shit very quickly and it's usually innocent people who bear the brunt of hypocritical , unjust laws that are usually dispensed on the basis of how the judge feels that particular day.

Just keep taking the money

It's scary that you are actually correct in comparing the UAE judiciary to the Middle Ages because stuff like this happened back then with alarming frequency.

Welcome to the nicer side of Sharia combined with a system that depends as much on how the individual judge is feeling as it does on actual law.

Keep your noses clean out there folks!

A likely story.... some Indian guy gave me sweets that had hash in them...

And I don't know who he is or anything...

How about- a woman was rushed to hospital after feeling ill. She thought she might have overdosed on some funny little pills she brought over with her. Worried about answering too many questions, she decided to blame - of course! - some random nameless indian. There are millions of them here, and they do look alike, so it's a victimless accusation.

Now an Arab police officer is gonna choose that story over the German air hostess gives an Indian the time of day version ...

Every. Time.
