Default Tunisia

So, it's all gone to shit in Tunisia. The question is, will it spill over into the wider region... Egypt, Syria, Yemen, Lebanon?

My view is that people can live with crappy regimes or a miserable economy but not both. So my bet is that Syria will be ok (good economy) but Egypt and Yemen may crumble.

I haven't read the papers in ages. Summarise what's happening in Tunisia in six words or less.

Indeed, and food prices are still not too bad but when your leaders live in palaces and you can't even afford to buy your daily bread it really leaves a bitter taste in the mouth.

Egyptian state apparatus is too powerfull. They routinely squash any challenge to the Mubarak regime. With the support of the US and Israel, the Egyptian regime is here to stay.

I would agree but the old boy isn't getting any younger and there isn't a handover plan.
