Try the UK citizenship test
Although the new official test questions have not been published, the quiz below is an independent representation of the new questions that a would-be citizen could be asked. You need more than 10 answers to pass the test, and in real life if you fail you'd have to wait a week and pay £50 to take another one (and hand over your British passport in the meantime...).
http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/blog/qu...tizenship-test You need more than 10 - I was always crap at history and I failed - I only got 10... looks like I am stateless now.... |

Re: Try the UK citizenship test
I scored 10 and must therefore give up my birth rights :(
Interestingly, this blog post the other day is attempting to expose incorrect questions in the test: http://blogs.independent.co.uk/2012/...ife-in-the-uk/ In the test on the Guardian for example, outdated figures for Black Death fatalities are seen in the test, in that it states 1/3 of the UK population died, where it is now thought 1/2 did. |

Re: Try the UK citizenship test
8/15. Then again, I am Australian.
Still, I don't see the point of asking immigrants abritary questions about our past. They should be focused on key points, such as not when the NHS was set up, but why. Being able to recite dates is next to useless. Being able to show you understand why things are as they are in the UK should be considered more important you would have thought. |
Re: Try the UK citizenship test
4!
Nato and Great Britain are the only ones I'm sure of. Rest all educated (or not) guesses. History not my strong point |
Re: Try the UK citizenship test
A cracking 13 out of 15, bizarrely falling down on the wrong century for the famine thinking the 1800's were the 18th century :o
and some shit about when laws came to Wales |
