Default Travel Insurance then...

...I realise I've asked this before but this time I did do a search for the thread and just never found it so...

best place to get proper all covering travel insurance?? I'm sure it's more expensive once you tell them that you live in Dubai,

I work in insurance and have never had a travel insurance policy in my life. Just try making a claim. It's not easy.

It's a big issue - If you are not resident in the UK, virtually any policy that is sold over the counter in the UK will NOT cover you.

You need to go through a broker and get a specialist policy if they can find one. eg I am off ski-ing in France late Jan, and if I have an accident I want sending back to the UK, not Dubai.

As Lionheart notes, you never know how good a policy is until you have to make a claim. Have a look at www.worldnomads.com. Never had to make a claim though.

Hi Spugsy,

It is available online as you may know through RSA - www.rsadirect.ae

It will take you 2 minutes to get a quote, don't listen to all these numpties about claims etc, if you ever had a problem you can come to me and I will make sure it's sorted.

Check you UK bank or credit cards, some provide free travel insurance, however now your not a UK resident you may need to source the cover through the UAE, therefore I suggest RSA.

If you click on the 'Products' section, you can view the policy wording for each policy.
