As we are talking about cars.

Why do people put the little badges on the end of their bonnets over here - a bit like a Rolls Royce.... but a cheap Japanese car...

Mitsubishi Pajero's are the usual culprits, but seen plenty of Toyotas and Nissans with them too. To my western eyes they look incredibly tacky and rubbish, thus trying to understand if it is ironic or.... if people actually think they look good.

My old Paj had one from the factory. I loved it.

They're crosshairs to help you get the aim right when you see someone approach a zebra crossing and are legally required to put the pedal to the metal.
