My racist neighbours in independent Zambia used to rant on about "Kaiser Bill was right - the threat is in the East" Maybe they were right. We get bus loads of Chinese visitors even here on my remote Scottish island, close to Ultima Thule.

When will there be a casino in Dubai to cater for the masses of Chinese visitors and residents, they do like a flutter.

Chinese visitors like to go shopping. They are looking for the ultimate retail experience. I am not prejudiced. Kaiser Bill was, as were my white settler neighbours in Central Africa,

A curse is when the village has 800 residents and gets 10.000 tourists/day. This is Hallstatt in Austria. Hallstatt is squashed between a mountain and a lake. You can only get there by ferry. Chinese copied and rebuilt it in China. Now they want to see the original.
It is not unusual for a tourist walking into a house to take pics. They think it is an exhibition like in China.

"Once you agree on a price, that's when the negotiations start"
The company I worked for years ago paid someone to travel to China and seal containers prior to shipping. Anything that had been tampered with then the payment was meant to be refused upon receiving the goods. Didn't stop them trying almost every shipment.
I knew another company that imported from China on the provision that if 50% of it was usable then it would still be worthwhile.

Tourism is a blessing ? Tell that to the ordinary folk who live in Prague, Venice or Edinburgh.
