One was being serious and the other is a deliberate wind-up?

it was a pretty rubbish episode all round to be honest. They also challenged their Aussie counterparts to a series of events and laid into them so hard it wasn't even funny.

He's a stupid, fat curly haired twat is Clarkson - he does a good job on the show but his arrogance shines through too much and just makes me enjoy the show, but think he's a twat.

Clarkson used to be funny, but his schtick got old. For me, Top Gear became unintresting after Tiff Needal left.

Oh shush! How dare you diss the To Gear presenters! lol I think they're hilarious, Clarkson just does it as a wind up all the time. James May is just a douche and Hammond is tiny.

I think the whole thing is brilliant.

Tiff Needal went on to do a show called 5th Gear - er where is that now? No where!

Clarkson was the big draw, the name recognition and production values of Top Gear. If Clarkson had left when May and Hammond first showed up, Top Gear would have lost a lot of viewers. Clarkson eased those 2 into the public sensibility.

Clarkson is May and Hammond's boss, he hired them to work alongside him... and in the first series of new Top Gear in 2002 it was Clarkson, Hammond and a guy called Jason Dawe who is a motoring journalist... he was replaced by May in 2003... everyone's forgotten that he was ever in Top Gear now and that 2002 series never gets repeated.
