No. 1 - ARACHNOPHOBIA (fear of spiders):

No. 2 - ACROPHOBIA (fear of heights):

No. 3 - COULROPHOBIA (fear of clowns):

They may not be actual phobias but simply expressed fears about objects or situations that cause anxiety in some BEs.

So fear of spiders is the No. 1 phobia especially amongst BE women...I don't really understand that one....how can a woman take boiling hot wax, pour it onto her upper thigh, rip the hair out by the root, and still be afraid of a spider ! :rofl:

MataHari has an unusual one - Mazeophobia (fear of getting lost)...but only in Sharjah ! ;)

Actually, those BE posters that brought up mostly related to a frightening incident when they were young. For example, a young girl was scared when a clown jumped out of a drain at a carnival !

Another adult BE women, fainted when a clown came running up to her as she was getting in her car...keeled over, bumped her head and went to hospital !

my kids are both terrified of clowns...and anyone dressed up as something, especially the freaky things that roam around ibn battuta...

guess it's just something you grow out of...

Actually, you posted one of your other fears - Mottephobia (fear of moths).

The most unusual one is from Jammy Dodger (and paddingtongreen) - he has a fear of cotton wool .. no phobia name for that one though !:rofl:
