Today I am irritated because some idiot at my optician thought he could get away with not honouring a credit note. BIG mistake. He caved but not before I had to be very firm indeed and it pisses me off that the only way to get some people to do the right thing is to be so forceful.

I took my boss for 9 holes at Meydan last week. Had an Entertainer voucher to use, phoned up and booked about 30mins before we got there (in the car). They never mentioned having to mention a voucher.
Got there, told we had to pay full whack instead of BOGOF. I argued politely but got told they can't change it. My boss argued hard, quite bluntly and made the politest of scenes. 45seconds later we had the voucher used and job done.

Today I'm feeling alright because I'm in the other office which is much more relaxed and can rant away. Also, I spoke to my Mummy last night, which is always nice.

Today I am surprisingly not pissed off, because I cant describe just how good my short break was for my mental health.
Leave for 5 days and it all goes to shit but actually I dont give a shit, I'm off again in 6 days so **** it, who cares.
Maybe this is the way to manage the middle East, work a week, holiday for a week.
Its not practical but it'd probably add decades to my life span

Today I am excited because we're off to Gozo next Friday.
Just being able to go out without having a taxi driver coming to pick you up saying he knows where you live despite him asking 3 times for directions (by me having to ring him back from the missed calls, obviously)
Going to a normal shop and buying lovely, lovely alcohol.
Browsing through a menu that doesn't have P or A in bold red type.
Enjoying a €2 beer while sitting outside in 25 degs with a cool sea breeze.
People being nice to you without getting paid to do so.
Only there for a fortnight though, shame.
