Default tinternet issues

27 March, 2011

DUBAI (Zawya Dow Jones)--Internet services across the Middle East, including in the United Arab Emirates, will be disrupted for several days due to a damaged telecommunications submarine cable, Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Co., or Du, said.

Du, in a statement emailed late Saturday, said the "degradation of internet services" was the result of an international submarine cable cut that occurred March 23 and was affecting internet users across the entire region, including the U.A.E.

I wonder if Du will do something about my bill as I'm paying for 16MB broadband and am lucky to get 1MB at the moment?

Isn't it about time they came up with something other than 'submarine cable'? It's their equivalent of the dog ate my homework.
