Threat Against International Schools
Although primarily aimed at American schools and teachers in the UAE, the report does also mention international schools. Take precautions especially over the Halloween weekend is my recommendation.

We all knew that anyway. The British school in muscat has permanent security guards and an emergency evacuation drill each year as well as lockdown plans. Most schools have had this since the Saudi nightmare many years ago.

Well any kind of threat should never be taken lightly ofcourse, especially if it involves children. Given the current scenarios being played out north of us with so many players supporting so many on the ground troops, it can be safely assumed that the GCC countries' intelligence communities would be working in overdrive to prevent just that sort of thing. It would take just one incident like that and mass exodus will be imminent, of which I am sure the authorities are very well aware of.
So not to put the threat down or anything, in my humble opinion, I think I have a fair bit of faith in the officials here.

In Muscat, Yemen and Saudi perhaps but nothing like that here in Dubai until now. You can just stroll into most schools without a second glance.

Note the 2002 situation in Saudi is what people in Oman are so afraid of.

There are constantly threats against families children staff throughout the gulf. The secret services do a better job in intelligence now than they used to.
