I highly reccommend Koh Phangan, just come back from there, was meant to stay six nights but extended it to 10 because it was so gorgeous.
Stayed at a place called Santhiya Resort and Spa (www.santhiya.com) - very luxurious, set in the jungle, private beach, It's a 30 minute speedboat ride from Koh Samui or you can get a ferry from Koh Samui which is cheaper but takes longer.
Very kid friendly, and the staff adore them.
Very good value for money for the luxury on offer and dirt cheap high quality food on the beach next door if you don't want to eat in one of the restaurants.

There seemed to be. I don't have any myself so only from what I observed...there was a kid's play area with toys etc in the area they call the library. Obviously big swimming pool and beach. Kayaks to hire at the resort. they will also organize the usual things like elephant trekking and boat trips. On the beach next door to Santhiya (one minute walk over some rocks) there's lots of watersports, boat trips and a little village where I'm sure there was stuff going on to amuse them.
The kids I saw there certainly never looked bored - and they all seemed well behaved which was a relief! Look it up on TripAdvisor for more specific info, re kids - lots of positive reviews on there.
You'd think I'm marketing the place but I'm really not. It is seriously one of the best places I've ever stayed at.
