no news on when the hockey stadium will be ready. they were supposed to have the Asia Cup there last year but it had to be switched to Malaysia as it wasnt ready

Nothing is finished. Nothing will be.

The vast sums of money owed by "Dubai Inc" have all been spent, so the tourism, leisure and sports projects have been frozen (Dubailand, Bawardi, etc).

Finishing them will require fresh new money...... but bearing in mind what we have all learned about Dubai's ability or willingness to repay existing debt, who's gonna be silly enough to lend them any more?

No, me neither...................

Just got back.....amazing stadium, yes it's finished.
Good organisation and parking-certainly beats Wembley
Lively banter and atmosphere-although half full
Unbeatable England
All in all a great Do.....so why don't you check it out for yourself....you never know you might enjoy yourself

Likewise, parking easy 1 hr before. Stadium great. No drink a disaster that will hopefully change soon. Watching Eng-er-land finish with a 4-4-6 to win was great - although managed to bite my hand to prevent pretending that I enjoyed them winning.... Departed within 15 mins with only 2 road rage incidents... all good for UAE....!
Drove past tonight at 7pm and cars queing for miles to get in so it may all be a matter of timing..... which locals generally have no concept.
