To be honest the club has a lot to answer for as well because you just cannot let your best strikers leave and not replace them , not in the premier league that's for sure.

When your seasons fu**ed before you've got the Christmas decorations up you know it's time for change !

Pardew deserves to have the smug grin wiped off his face. Saints were decent enough to not make his departure public. That being said, Newcastle are, annoyingly, doing well underneath such a bellend.

Back to Sunderland - I'd like to see you with someone like Strachan, he's a quality manager and did wonders at Southampton. Otherwise, you are unfortunately looking at the usual suspects;

Big Sam,
O'Neil,
Moyes maybe?
Curbishley?
Ian whasshisname, blackpool manager
Few randoms from abroad
McLaren?
Southgate even?

There seems to be enough cash floating around at Sunderland to get a decent name in there, certainly better than the above. Maybe someone from Spain / Italy?

I don't think O'Neill would do it, he has ideas above his station - he thinks he's bigger than you lot.

If he does a Pardew to us then they can have him.

Otherwise, hands off. He's quality.

The local feeling here is that 5under1and do not have the money to pay Bruce off and bring in a big name manager so are hoping he has a concience attack and resigns, they have given him the next two games , Wolves away and Blackburn at home to get the fans back onside. If they have to pay him off then expect Phil Brown, O'Neill will want too much cash to spend, big Fat Sam will want too many backroom staff.
2 draws will probably be enough to keep Agent Bruce in a job.

O'Neill or Hughes would do a decent job, but I cant help thinking you'd be better with a more steady, non big name manager to steady the ship and keep you lads mid table for the next few seasons before pushing on.

Also I read Bruce bought THIRTY players in his time there??
