Re: stranded in Abu Dhabi
So true.
If I tried to pull that shit on my parents it would have been nipped in the bud immediately. Get on the plane or stay here alone.
(not so)Little prick. Kids these days.

he looks a bit smug to me......
ffs, has he no sense ?, at 12 he can certainly understand what a financial impact this has on the family.

I notice from the Daily Fail that his old man used to work for John Prescott. Perhaps a Prescott-style left jab is in order?

Re: stranded in Abu Dhabi
But I doubt the airline would let him fly if there is a chance that he could become hysterical. Gosh, I do not know what I would do if it were my child. I am assuming he is not afraid of being in a car as they are getting around somehow, so I would probably drive home. Even if it meant driving through some dangerous countries.
It does make you wonder how much of it is due to not wanting to go back to Western-Super-Mare, though...

ha! too many things wrong with this picture to solely blame the kid (he DOES look smug in all the pics tho doesnt he?)
I blame a lack of contraceptive methods to begin with but in all honesty if the parents let this go for so long then there is something else that they arent telling the papers imho
I would like to say that had it been my son I would have just steam-rolled over any of his complaints in the first instance he opened his mouth!
Conspiracy theory : The brat loves it here and doesnt want to go back so he 'has some 'incriminating evidence' of his parents and hence his overdue stay AND his smugness

Father was interviewed on UK TV this morning, apparently the sedation was thought of.. BUT.. you have to be able to walk onto the plane unless you have a serious medical condition and need a wheelchair, also they were concerned about what might happen when the sedation wore off. The whole thing is likely to split the family up it seems.
Son was going to play rugby in Sri Lanka a few weeks ago, but was concerned that he wouldn't be able to get on the plane to return, now reading that he would have been OK to go to Sri Lanka, so why not the UK.

I don't know man, smells a lot like 'the boy who went missing in a hot air balloon' from across the Atlantic! The whole family was in on it, it seems!
