Re: Stay or Go
I've got around 12 months left in my current role. If I am unable to set up something independently, or find something with my current shop then I'll leave. Been here 12.5 years now, love the place but am actually starting to get tired of it now. I had planned on 10 years, it's going to be about 14 by the time I finally leave which seems long enough.
I don't really fancy any of the other employers in the local market but never say never I guess. I'd happily move to AD for a few years for a change of scenary.

How on earth can you tell the difference much less identify scenery. They are both flat, beige, generic new towns with not a scrap of sole or architectural merit between them. I need to check road signs to work out which one i'm in.

It's easy, there are more sleeves of tattoos in Dubai.

Re: Stay or Go
I've decided that my prior comment was less positive than the forum deserved. In response to the proposed change of city. I made a list of possible alternatives to Dubai within the region and ranked them on an objective albeit personal interesting scale. It is important to note that tats, drunks and road junctions are of little interest to me and thus played no part in my score allocation.
Cairo 10, Istanbul 9, Tel Aviv 8, Alexandria 7, Amman 6, Izmir 5, Ankara 4, Jeddah 3, Riyadh 2, Tehran 1, Dubai 0, Abu Dhabi -1, Dammam -2
It would be interesting to see how others rank the cities of the region as possible go to locations

Re: Stay or Go
If you gave - 100 for Riyadh, I dread to think what you'd give Qassim! Why so negative? Personally I really enjoyed the years I spent there and I'd move back tomorrow.
