SPOTY

This is on tonight...

The Main Event, who will win it?

Bradley Wiggins
Sir Chris Hoy
Andy Murray
Jessica Ennis
Mo Farah
Katherine Grainger
Rory McIlroy
Nicola Adams
Ben Ainslie
Sarah Storey
Ellie Simmonds
David Weir

My thoughts are that it is phenomenally tight.

Wiggins had a blinder, awesome character too. TdF, Olympics etc etc, Good option.
Murray - Eurgh, but you know, a Major is a Major and an Olympic gold. Good option.
McIlroy - good option indeed, unbelievable year for him. COuld be a contender.
Ainslie - Would love to see him win, but unlikely IMO.
David Weird - One of my favourites, ****ing monster of a human being, good option.

They are the people I think are in with a shout.

What do you all think?

Who's you're winner?

Neck out - I'm going with McIlroy to win it, but would love to soo Weir to get it.

I thought Wiggins had the shortest odds?

I'm an idiot. I haven't even looked at odds for anything yet. Thanks Meow.

Financial Advisor suggesting gambling? Perfect.

This does not constitute a formal recommendation. The value of your stake can fall as well as rise and returns are not guaranteed.

Who or what is spotty, apart from the faces of youths?

Such a clinical response.

I've edited it for what I read.

Re: SPOTY

I'd put it down to a shortlist of:

Bradley Wiggins
Andy Murray
Mo Farah

I'd like to see Chris Hoy get it, but maybe as a past winner they will spread the love around.

Sorry chaps, I made no mention of the longer version of the event's name.

Sports Personality of the Year...the BBC annual awards do.

Means absolutely nothing, but this year there are so many contenders it's at least interesting.

I would give it to Jessica Ennis.

Re: SPOTY

Is it fully counted on public votes?

If so I'd guess Wiggins or Ennis.

Obv. would like Murray to win, but until he wins Wimbledon or is World #1 that'll not happen...

Amazing shortlist though - in other years just about any of them could have won.

I think it's just public votes...

Your bit in bold is also true for this year, but for good reasons, not bad!

All on the public vote, at some point the shortlist will become even shorter during the evening for the final voting. I would love to see one of the paralympians winning, but the list is so competitive. Not sure if the number of cyclists there will split the voting giving someone else a chance. The only one who will NOT be present is Andy Murray.

Bradley Wiggins for me, but 4/7 on is terrible odds.
