Speed Limit

so has this actually come into force?

Dubai reduces speed limits on two key highways
'The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority has decided to reduce speed limits on two key Dubai roads, it was announced today.

Speed limits on Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road and Emirates Road have been reduced from 120 km/hr to 110 km/hr, the authority said on Twitter.

Accordingly, the radar has been reset at 131 km/h.

The decision was taken after a meeting between Mattar Al Tayer and Major General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of the Dubai Police.'

Re: Speed Limit

The trendy thing among Gulf youth is to accelerate your car until the speedometer reaches maximum and can go no faster, and then pull out your phone and video the needle while you are driving. Some young fathers are putting passport-photo sized pictures of their babies next to "120" on their speedometer to remind them not to do this.
