Default UAE economy is fantastic! Or a more nuanced view?

Long article and it is Arabian Business, but some interesting numbers or statements that I hadn't seen elsewhere, especially regarding schooling numbers.

Great escape? The UAE expat's dilemma - Culture & Society - ArabianBusiness.com

My impression from the Qatar end is that the exodus continues. Rents are falling and people still leaving. Know a few people who share flats in Pearl / West Bay and are struggling to find replacement flatmates for there's very few new people coming in. No suggestion of stabilisation any time soon.

(Pedantry alert)

An estimated 7.8 million of the country’s 9.2 million population are expats, according to the latest estimates, with Emiratis making up just 11 percent of the total.
So a million or so Emiratis. Where are the other 400,000 from? Stateless? Comoros islands?

It's almost like Qatar thinks it is finished now? Ready to go. Top city in the world. No improvement needed.

Very odd.
