Watching Sky News in the UK, confirmed Micheal Jackson died of cardiac arrest aged 50 in UCLA Hospital, Los Angeles.
A post motem is expected to be carried out today (Friday)

It's sad - he had a crappy childhood from all accounts which left him a little on the loopy side, but I always felt sorry for him. I'll be interested to hear from the autopsy whether he actually did have alpha1 antitrypsin deficiency - it might mean some greater awareness for the disorder and hopefully get some research funding happening. It's a cause close to my heart.

People always go on about dead people on here, LH mainly - but I have to say, I think it's sad that he's dead, the man was crackers but a total legend - look at the back catalogue he left behind, we'll certainly never seen anyone like him again in our lifetimes.

YOu're right about the double standards, but these things are black and white. (That's not intentional punnage, BTW). The guy was sick, but there were reasons for it. It's not right that people made more allowance for these than if he hadn't been a talented, famous musician. And he could afford the best lawyers, too.
