Socialising ??
 

Hi everyone!

Just wanted to know what the best way is to go about meeting people. My colleagues have not been the most welcoming and i am feeling a bit down - i am normally a very sociable person but I am finding Dubai very hard to settle in..everyone seems to just want to do their own thing and not help the newbie in town...Maybe i've just come across the wrong and pretentious type - I hope I have just had bad experiences to date!

Soz but i'm in AD, so can't really help but can offer some tips

Do you play sport? There will always be a tennis night/ football night that you can go to. If not, there are gym glasses with yoga etc . Even if you don't meet someone straight off bat, at least you're doing something.

Don't know if you're male or female but you seem to be a ladee (hope i'm not wrong!). See if there are any social nights out on the EW website.


Good luck, it all takes time and you meet a lot of wierdos. It reminds me of uni.

I def think you have come across the wrong type of person hun! Ive met lots of friendly people in Dubai - granted i did know a few so i managed to extend my friends quite quickly as well as meeting ladies from my husbands work.

The quiz is on tomo, as i understand it MM is always looking for new recruits no matter how crap you are... she is taking me :)

they get there for 7.45pm - Aussie Legends, cant for the life of me remember which hotel it is in!

Will be my first time of eventually meeting some of these lovely people! Come along :)

Thanks. Yes I am female, I've been looking into horse riding as I hear that is pretty amazing out here.

As for the comment on uni - I know exactly what you mean! I thought the same thing, but that is because I seem to have met all the weirdos in Dubai so far and I'm sure that it's just been a very bad experience!

Terrible...

I've been raised in Abu Dhabi so my firend circle revolve around the people I grown up with, tried to expand it with new expats, unfortunatly only worked out with few...
