So is there a holiday this week or not?

Hearing conflicting messages from various quarters about whether there is a holiday on Thursday or not. I know it's dry on Tuesday (makes no difference to anything) and the real celebration is Wednesday, but am keen to see if there is a day off as Me and Mrs Shed are off for a quick holiday on Friday which we can easily bring forward by a day.

Anyone got any concrete information?

I know ... just seen that myself. Guess you’re just going to have to wait for ‘clarification’. :)

It never ceases to amaze me that a country can't give at least a month's notice of holiday.

Everything at the last minute seems to be the ethos in these parts - and in all aspects of life, delay a decision, delay it again, and then want it tomorrow.

The Gov removed it when they unified the public and private sector hols. By all accounts it is not a holiday and the one later in the year has also been removed. We now get a longer EID ( depending upon when it falls and 2 days for national day)

Well I can tell you that no one is taking a day off tomorrow in Deira or Bur, thats for sure.
While on the topic of planned holidays 4th to 8th June would be a long weekend for sure as thats Ramzan's Eid. Ramzan starts on the 3rd or 4th of May.

I'm always surprised that these things still surprise me / make me chuckle.
