it is barbaric, i'm surprised the guy was killed though...
did you see the stoning of soraya...? it's horrendous what they did to an innocent woman who was dragged before their kangaroo court on trumped up charges of adultery because she wouldn't divorce her husband and he'd found someone else...i was horrified at the length of time the stoning took, like the woman in this bbc report, she didn't die quickly, even when a stone hit her direct in the forehead so they went back for more...i'd always thought they used massive stones so that it would be over immediately, how naive i was...

Well, what do you expect us to do? It's bloody Afghanistan. We've been in that country for almost ten years and this awful shit still goes on.
The only way reform will ever come to Afghanistan is to treat it like a full fledged colony. Completely take control of the country, top to bottom. All powers in the hand of the colonial administrators with district commanders in every village and military garrisons in every town. Afghanistan is going to the breadbasket because the western powers/coalition forces have been handing back power to the Afghan government and letting them take control of more and more of the administrative side. But the Afghans are the most corrupt and uneducated people on the world....no wonder it's falling apart once again.

Just horrible! These animals - I can't use the term people, because they're below human - are so backward in their thinking. It's sad fanatical, tribal attitudes that you're dealing with. They need to be taken out and disposed of, plain and simple.

most of the aid money thats gone into afghanistan has been paid in bribes or gone missing, mohammed kharzis brother is afghanistans and therefore the worlds biggest heroin dealer (thats a huge european issue right there), i saw a figure the other day that in 2009 over $2.5 billion usd was spent by the population on bribes to officials, in a country that poor thats just insane, the list goes on and on and on

I have come across many tribes in rural Africa that are more developed than those here. Maybe describing Afghans as tribal is insulting to genuine tribal culture.
