I can't even begin to list the anomalies and inconsistencies in his case, so I won't even try.......

I started off thinking he was guilty (many years ago) but then changed to undecided after reading the reservations from some of the Scots involved.

when i joined the Navy, one of my shipmates was from another wee village near Lockerbie and his 'claim to infame' was that his brother got arrested for looting from the crime scene.

I have no idea if he was guilty or not, however whenever these things happen there are always conspiracy theories that link a series of inconsistencies in an attempt to prove something. Nothing in life is clear cut and dried. There are always rumours and errors that can be seized upon.

Google the Major McKee who was killed in the incident. He is buried at Arlington. But the photo posted Shows a Charles E McKee, CPL, born 1828 died 1986! Proof of a CIA cover up! Or just a wrong photo.... (or even an uncle or father).

The one I can speak about is the 2002 Bali bombings, which some absolute crackpots claim was a CIA bombing using a nuclear device!! They base this theory on th damage, blast flash and the crater. Utter bollox. Any yet now thousands of Indonesians believe this crap and think the CIA did it.

These sorts of theories sell books and TV programs. They don't necessarily separate the facts from the mass of rubbish.

It seems as soon as anything happens there is a conspiracy theory leaping out of the woodwork.

I think it's a combination of having too much free time on their hands coupled with a lack of critical thinking. Certainly it's good to ask questions, especially of government but when you have theories which postulate thousands of government employees conspiring together over decades when they can't even balance the budget you have to feel sorry for the people who dream up that nonsense.

It is a shame really because as mentioned, asking questions is good.

Elvis did do drugs and is quite dead, Muslim terrorists did destroy the world trade centre (because USA security was a joke), Zionists don't control sharks in the Red Sea that attack tourists and spoil Egypt's tourism industry, the Chinese don't eat babies (but some of them eat farm reared dogs), the Democracts attempted to block virtually every Civil Rights act in the last 100 years, and JFK was actually a hardliner (and womaniser...always a good combination) who stood up to the Soviets and prevents WIII - and he was killed by a former Soviet Defector for his troubles, not a right winger like that Oliver Stone movie would have us believe.

Oh, and the Mormons are from Mars...I've had it checked.

Its one step from conventional conspiracy theories to the loonies you meet on the street who claim that Martians abducted them or that their minds are being controlled by the CIA.

Hang on, isn't BE a CIA front? Wait - Where is SUE? Yep USA.

Have any of us ever met Sue? Nope.

Proof that something is going on!!!
