Mentalist, unless you have further information you have no reason whatsoever to give the thread the title you've chosen. Stirring things on inconsequential matters or mere viewpoints is one thing, but this is something completely different.

It's crimes like this that provide 1 of the best reasons to ban the Niqab or Burqa (in the West).
For the moment this sounds like an argument between 2 parties that escalated rather than a crime connected to any wider political issue.

I can't see how a Western American woman (a teacher) in Abu Dhabi would start fighting a local in a mall. Not very logical.

An earlier report in the National said they were in the same disabled toilet cubicle and the attacker was heard to say 'sit down or I will kill you'.

What does give me pause for thought is the likelihood that a local woman would be carrying a knife around, which makes this case seem like a crime of a political nature. I suppose though that there might be that rare local woman who carried a knife and it was only a matter of time till one of them got into a row with an expat.

Neither can I picture the American lady fighting a local woman BUT I can definitely picture a local woman escalating the argument into a fight.

It is hard to see any other nature than political or just a mental person.
And this is the 2nd mall stabbing in the region in the last few days. Very similar pattern:

Bleeding hell, guys, you're heaping conjecture on top of speculation and adding a pinch of paranoia. Let's just wait for the facts to emerge. Ah...er...ok, hang on...

Who carries around such a large knife unless they were intending to attack people with it.
Does seem like a guy, the way he/she moves is rather purposefully and belies a sort of presence that isn't feminine. How he/she hits the elevator button doesn't seem softly/daintily like a woman either.
