Default Slipway in Abu Dhabi

Contemplating buying a jet ski, but don't have a 4x4 so can't get down onto the beach to get the thing in the water. Is there a concrete slipway anywhere in AD (without having to be a member of a yacht club or similar)?

Thanks

have a look at the bit opposite the ADNEC where there's a channel of water good for Jet Skiing.

Heading out of AD on 30th take turning for 27th and instead of looping back on yourself go straight over roundabout and then left at next r-bout. Lots of Palaces down there but also parking. Seen many cars (incl a Bentley!!) drive along the 'beach' which is in effect a hardstanding.

There is also a slip at the end of the corniche (port end). It's steep though, so you need big balls and a good handbrake.

There are some places that people access in Bain Al Jasrain and you dont need a 4x4.

As you come up 30th (Khaleej Al Arabi), take the turn for Mangrove/Shangri-La. At the very first roundabout, turn right to go back under Khaleej. Go straight at the next roundabout which crosses over a channel of water.

Two options now:
turn right at the round about and just over the speed bumps they have lowered the curb to give access to hard sand where lots of people launch

or

turn left at the roundabout, go to the next roundabout and u-turn and there are always loads of guys launching from here. Again, compacted sand

The other alternative is down behind the Fairmont there is a carpark next to the Drug Enforcement Police bit - again, it looks like hard sand and you can launch straight into the water.

u can pay to use the slip way at the marina, u could just park it in the car park there.

u can use the slipway up at the channel in bain al jersain near to the shang, this is used a lot by local boy racers!

u can use the slipway at mataq bridge, but the access is extremely bumping and the tides are very strong also a police boat sits there too, u have to be careful as sometimes they will not let you go under the third crossing because of sensitive area.

people launch them off the beach under mussafah bridge but obviously u can get stuck.

people launch them at the area opp adnec.

u can pay to use the slipway at the port marina up behind fish market.

u can use the steep slipway right next to the corniche at mina port too.

Thanx everyone.

Busybee, you say: "u can pay to use the slip way at the marina, u could just park it in the car park there": does the marina have the facility to leave it parked there?

the marina has a slipway and it was something like 50 dhs to use it. there is a car park outside so you could just park your jet ski there if you wanted to and then walk it the short way to the water.

also the slipway at the fish market they will charge you i think 100 or so but they will actually put it in the water for you.

100Dh? they must be taking the piss. I'd want them to fill it with fuel too.
