skype
Hi everyone, have another quick question about life in Dubai, are we allowed to have skype? I have a horrible feeling I have read somewhere it is not allowed? Just wanted to check

Am not sure about Etisalat as am not with them (one of the BE'ers, will no doubt post about their service) but if you hook up with Du yes, Skype works fine, good quality phone line and webcam via pc....its a god send when calling people back home in UK and seeing their pale faces...

There are two service providers here, Etisalat and Du.
Am not sure about Etisalat as am not with them (one of the BE'ers, will no doubt post about their service) but if you hook up with Du yes, Skype works fine, good quality phone line and webcam via pc....its a god send when calling people back home in UK and seeing their pale faces...

make sure its installed on your PC before you move as you wont be able to download it. useful to have a copy of the install file as well in case you get a new PC at some point

- although after all the chat last week about putting on weight when I arrive - I am sure they will have a good laugh at my expense too! may have to purchase a burkha!
