SKY TV IN UAE
 

Hi, I'm moving to Dubai soon and would like to know if sky tv is available in UAE or if my sky box will work there? Thanks:)

Sky News is available though, as part of a normal satellite/cable package here.

But why would you want it? Watching Sky News is like reading the News of the World..........

well you can't.
the footprint of the satellite for sky is quite tightly cetered on the UK. when I lived in Hamburg I needed a 1m diam dish. in somewhere like cyprus you need a 3m dish. in Dubai you would need to have Jodrell bank on your roof.

and word of warning the sat channels are rubbish compared to uk and much more expensive.

Apparently it's possible using broadband provided no-one will be using your skybox at home whilst you're here... google slingbox and it will explain. You can get them at pc world. Not used it so don't know if/how it works - just heard it was a possibility.

probably won't work that well due to the crappy t'internet speeds Dubai (much better than here in Singas though)
