Showtime

Criminal minds, cold case, bones, CSI etc etc etc

Isn't this just scooby doo for grown ups?

Comedy - Everytime I check this it's either The nanny, fresh prince, friends or seinfeld....and same episodes from last month.

Sports - almost always football.

It's f'n rubbish!

Classic - utterly brilliant................

You're right, it is mainly rubbish. If it wasn't for John Stewart, The Thirsty Traveller, Ching's Kitchen and The Simpsons I probably wouldn't bother...

the only stuff I watch is Coronations Street, Emmerdale, Eastenders and BBC Prime if I haven't got anything on download. It's good for the kids channels though.

They got the Ashes and Lions tours, so that is worth subscription just for that...

Heroes and Lost the only half decent programmes...

does anyone else receive Showtime through Du ?

I receive mine through Du, and the on screen interaction is pretty crap, the remote control basically just changes channels

Was at a friends house in Arabian Ranches yesterday and they have the same package but have a Sky Plus type TV guide on screen, which looks much more up-to-date than mine....

When I called Du to up grade mine, they said the version i have is all that is available in the Marina ??

Anyone else in the Marina have the same version as I have or the more up-to-date version ?

Showtime via Du in the Marina use IP-TV to transmit the TV signal and supply a Motorola VIP 1510 STB (Set Top Box).

The problem is, the video Output of this box is the basic RCA or Composite output (Yellow, Red, White) and this is quite a poor signal for a Plasma /LCD TV.

Does anyone else have an IP-TV Set Top Box with higher quality Video output (like Component - Ycr, etc or HDMI)...

I have researched on Motorlas site and apparently they do manufacture better STB. One of them is the VIP 1550 (with Component output).

- Does Du Supply better STB for IPTV ?
- If not, are there IPTV STB available to buy in Dubai, with higher quality video output?

You're replying to your own post, with a post that requires a Masters in Quantum Physics to understand??

And you support West Ham??

Love it.............

Yes they will be showing the British Lions tour of South Africa as well as the Ashes so I will be keeping up my Dhs87 monthly payments. We also love CSI, Bones, Ghost Whisperer, Survivor and all that stuff. As for comedy, the Simpsons seem to be on more than anything else. Not my cup of tea but good if you like it.

Just checked and apparently as my Showtime comes via Du, the only set top box's they do is the one I have (very basic) although they tell me they are planning to launch the 'Recordable Set Top Box' in May and will upgrade all existing customers with these......famous last words...

Aye, Springs is the same as Marina.. Only thru Du, basic box and no HDMI output...

Show Comedy has 2 excellent shows 10pm and 10.30pm.. Daily Show w/ John Stewart and The Colbert Report... They are probably the most reliable way to get political news from the US.....!!!:thumbsup:

Oh, and google John Stewart vs. Jim Cramer.. An excellent match up where he nails the Mad Money host......

Couldn't stand that john guy and then watched it one day and started to like the show, then obviously watched colbert.

Gone off cobert a bit now as his show doesn't have much substance and he just seems to like his own voice.

The daily show wjs is decent enough.

There's golf on tv right now!!!!

Anyone know if the US masters is being covered this week?

Re: Showtime

Showtime is crap but if you are a football fan there is no choice. I don't know how they justify two comedy channels. My favourite program is Banged up Abroad on Nat Geo Adventure, especially the ones where some ugly bloke is talked into bringing shed loads of coke back from Peru by some stunna and then can't believe that actually he was duped and has to spend 10 years in some shithole prison. Genius.

I doubt you will pick up showtime in the UK. thats not what a slingbox is for.
you need someone with showtime in the UAE and attach a slingbox to that
