Salary's not huge but probably liveable on, wouldn't have thought you'll save much though, unless you enjoy a quiet life.
You need to find out exactly what they are offering you for accommodation as it is really expensive here.
What about an education allowance for when your pre-schooler is a schooler?

It really depends on what you are earning back home. You can certainly survive on that salary but you will need to check the accommodation costs.

What project is probably just as relevant at the moment. I know of at least three projects that have "death sentence post November" written all over them.....

thanks. he will be teaching. accommodation i suppose to be a 2 or 3 bedroom appartment but not sure exactly. there is an allowance for schooling as well. we dont want to move and find that we will be struggling to live there as i have heard it can be expensive.

It can be expensive but doesn't always have to be, but check out exactly what the accommodation is - don't suppose anything!

I think you have the right attitude. Things here are very expensive, especially if you're working out AED to GBP since the pound slumped late last year. For a 2/3 bed you'll need at least 200,000 AED to be safe (although you may find something a little cheaper if you're prepared to live out of town.) For three people the salary is just about enough but only if you're not having to supplement your accommodation. best of luck to you, it's an adventure worth doing in my opinion but don't expect Utopia!
