Shipping cats....
....any idea how much it costs to get your cat shipped with you when you leave the country? To say Oz, Uk etc?
Anyone done this recently?

You could try stuffing them down your trouser legs... Just dont shove an aubergine is as well, they can spot them a mile off...

Re: Shipping cats....
Twinklestar looked at this a few months ago. I think it is around 1,500sterling per cat, but don't quote me. I think any vet here will give you a better idea.Quarantine costs in UK extra.

Its around 1500 a cat, a 2nd one is less if it shares the same container. To go from here to UK, you need to get a vet check done 6 months prior to travel and if all OK then no quarrantine time in the UK.
Australia is much stricter, and so there will be quarrantine time at the far end to consider.

Re: Shipping cats....
nah I have this one stray and I want to keep him, but I already have one, and also his sister who we look after has just had 5 kittens,
anyway they live in our maids room and I feed them, but we're moving house next week and we can't really take both as the missus reckons when we do leave it'll cost us a small fortune (seems she's right), if it was cheap enough to ship back I'd take the one stray and try and re-house the other one with the kittens,
but if its a grand and a half each then it's too much, I was just weighing up options.
Here's the kittens anyway, I know some people on here will want to see:

Love must be in the air - our garden kitty gave birth to 4 little kitties last week - very cute, but really not what we wanted - just didn;t get her neutered in time. Notnbantam (sp?) you want a cat ?

yep anyone that takes care of the stray animals are commended.
Spugs, be aware that feline friends have regular adoption days - kittens are the first to go, as expected.
They can also help with fosterers, kitty food etc, they are generally good eggs.
as opposed to canine friends, who in my extensive experience are pig ignorant and offer no f**king help whatsover...
and that is my experience, before anyone responds..
