Sharjah Welcomes You...
...to the Middle Ages, where it's not only illegal for a woman to be in a room with a man to whom she is not married or blood related (we all knew about that), but where men cannot wear gold or silver jewellery whilst out shopping.:frown:

http://www.gulfnews.com/nation/Polic.../10333560.html I know it is going a bit mad from the report but I can tell you that it only applies really to the "Bling stuff" wedding rings, simple chains would not be an issue. |

Some may see it as you're mocking their culture. I did wear one once to my regular shisha place (in Abu Hail so lots of locals) to watch a footy game with some local friends, the younger ones generally don't mind and think its kinda cool that you would want to wear their clothing, but warned me that some of the older lot wouldn't find it appropriate. As far as I know it isn't against the law or anything, but you could get in trouble if you meet the wrong guy. Its a shame nevertheless, as they are brilliant in the heat. Nice and airy down there if you catch my drift.

Re: Sharjah Welcomes You...
Why would an Emirati be cross about anyone wearing dishdasha? Brits wouldn't be bothered by one of them wearing a three-piece pin-striped suit.
