Default Sexual equality

Here's a nice one:

http://gulfnews.com/news/gulf/uae/cr...drugs-1.618443

4 years for smoking 1 reefer, but just 3 months for threatening to kill someone and endagering their life.

Follows on nicely from yesterday's article where the UN Ambassador for Equal Rights (or some such) praised the UAE's progress.

Hmmm, does raise a few questions. The defence ask the court to refer her to a medical committee to be treated for drug addiction, yet at the same time she claims she didn't know it was drugs???

But, yeah, consistency is not a strong point in courts here.

So basically, she gets punished for being a stupid woman.
